1. Seasonal- & annual-mean PP comparisons Wendy Ermold & Michael Steele. 2. 3. Paty And Victoria’s Surface PP. values on land?. Regions?. mgC/m 3/ d. Surface PP Difference Plots. mgC/m 3/ d. If we did this: Fractional difference = difference/mean we’d get values up to 200%!.

Victoria’s Annual IPP mgC/m^2/day* 0.08 degree resolution On the EASE Grid • Paty’s Annual scale ranges from about 0 to 100 gC/m^2/yr OR 0 to 100,000 mgC/m^2/yr • The above data appears to be an annual per day average in mgC/m^2.
Paty’s Annual IPP per day mgC/m^2/day (I divided by 365 to convert to daily)

To do • Seasonal/Annual Mean sub-Project • Coordination of vertical integration • Intercalibration of methods • What are our scientific results? • Temporal change sub-Project • Linear trend lines: Can do it with satellite data, but are in situ data good enough? • Maybe just compare 2 time periods (pre/post 2000s?) • Crazy idea: Make synthetic PP maps of the pre-satellite era using • principle components derived from the satellite data, plus • older in situ data? • Summer 2007 sub-Project • Main idea: newly open water areas still have low PP ‘cause of low nuts?
