  3. Project Overview • Dominoes are released which trigger the golf ball to begin rolling down the ramp • Golf ball hits the block of wood • Block of wood falls on scissors causing them to cut the string • The weight attached to the string falls

  4. Energies Used • Conservation of translational energy • Conservation of momentum • Projectile motion • Center of mass mgh= ½ mv2 M1v1+ m2v2 = m1v1’ + m2v2’

  5. Design Issues • The sustainability of the cardboard and duct tape • The block of wood hitting the scissors at the right spot consistently

  6. Conclusion • We were able to transform what we had learned throughout the semester into a project. The project was challenging and time consuming but also allowed us to use our creativity. We also learned to work as a team.
