Induction Set • Teaching and learning Activities • Students are asked to go to the computer lab. • Students are divided into 5 groups. • 3. Students are shown the attached chart. • 4. Students are asked to answer the following questions: • i. “How many lorries and cars passing by the road on the 1st hour?” • ii. “How many lorries pass the road on the 2nd and 3rd hour?”

STEP 1: OPEN THE EXCEL PROGRAM • Group 3-3 1. Open the Excel Program. 2. Key in the following data by teacher’s guide.
On the 1st row of the 1st column, type “DAY”. • On the 2nd column of the same row, type “MONDAY”, next column, “TUESDAY”, and so on, until “FRIDAY”. • On the 2nd row of the 1st column, type “SANDWICH”. • On the 2nd column of the same row, type the number of the sandwiches sold on each day. • On the 3rd row of the 1st column, type “BURGER”. • On the 2nd column of the same row, type the number of the burgers sold on each day.
STEP 2: DRAW PAIRED BAR CHART A. Students are asked to do the following instructions: • Highlight all columns and rows that have the data keyed in earlier. • Click “Chart Wizard” from the tool bars. • Choose the type of chart we want. i. Choose “column chart” ii. Choose “ bar chart” • Click “Next”. • Click “Next” again.
Give a title for the chart. • Name the x and y axis. • Click “Next” • Click “Finish”. • Students submit the outcomes.

STEP 3: EXERCISE • Distribute Work Sheet 1 to each group and complete the exercise by using MS Excel.
