  2. Location • It was built in the capital of Egypt of the time, Alexandria • The exact date is unknown, but it was launched in the year 288 BC • Sadly, there is no more Library of Alexandria

  3. Purpose • This magnificent building was built by Ptolemy I • This structure was built to be an academy, a research center, and be a library • It ended up what it was made for an academy, a research center, and a library

  4. Unique facts • It held over 400,000 scrolls, that is equivalent to 100,00 books • Eratosthenes proved that the earth was round here and calculated its circumference • Also Euclid wrote his elements of geometry here

  5. There will never be anything like it • The ancient Library of Alexandria is unique and there is not one like it in the world. • This library sadly is not an ancient wonder but it was cool
