Woodrow Wilson is re-elected in the USA with a campaign slogan of "He kept us out of the war". Germans heavily attack England with blockades and zeppelin barrages. 1918 the Germans are officially defeated 1919 The first world war has ended Chlorine gas bombs are being worked on. 1916 the battles are still raging on with more and more casualties. America before they entered the war When the war started America was trying to stay out of it as much as they can even though they kept up with the process and events of the war they still tried to remain out of it. They passed a policy of neutrality and isolation. And Woodrow Wilson kept them out of war, and was even reelected him on he kept us out of war slogan. Some Americans would have liked to go into the war sooner than America did but most people agreed with president Wilson to keep America out of war.
Why and when the U.S. entered WW1 America entered ww1 and stopped there keep us out of war when German submarines sunk an American boat Lusitania. The Germans were trying to just stop the resupplying of there enemies but it took a turn for the worst for Germans when president Woodrow Wilson asked congress to declare war on Germany and the U.S. joined forces with the allies. This happened on April 2nd 1917.
How unprepared the U.S. was for war. The Americans were greatly under prepared for warfare especially trench warfare. • The first reason that Americans were so unprepared for war was because they had not had a proper training before they were sent out to fight in the warn • This is because we were trying to get troops there as fast as we could. • And also we had no experience with trench warfare conditions, and we also did not count on chlorine gas bombs. All of these factors played a great role in showing how unprepared the U.S. was for warfare.
