Rastafari is not a highly organized religion; it is a movement and an ideology. Many Rastas say that it is not a "religion" at all, but a "Way of Life“ • Their God they worship is known as “Jah”
Rastafari are monotheists, worshipping a singular God whom they call Jah. Rastas see Jah as being in the form of the Holy Trinity, that is, God being the God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Rastas say that Jah, in the form of the Holy Spirit (incarnate), lives within the human
They are know as The Rastafari Movement. • Main Beliefs the spiritual use of cannibis, refers to Africa as “Zion” which to them in considered birthplace of all mankind. • Many followers believe in living a good, pure free life to get to “Zion” stands for a Utopian place of unity, peace and freedom, as opposed to "Babylon", the oppressing and exploiting system of the western world and a place of evil
Cannibis • For Rastas, smoking cannabis, usually known as "herb", "weed", or "ganja" is a spiritual act, often accompanied by Bible study; they consider it a sacrament that cleans the body and mind, heals the soul, exalts the consciousness, facilitates peacefulness, brings pleasure, and brings them closer to Jah. They often burn the herb when in need of insight from Jah.
Basic Theme of Rasta Beliefs • They communicate with Jah, their God, and through careful examination of the Bible. By living a natural life and giving praise to Jah through every deed are key methods to living an eternal life. Through meditation the followers arrive at the truths, and begin to come to understanding what has been left out of the Christian Bible
