Europe Center Basics Why a Europe Center? • „The purpose of the Europe Center is to connect our international centers and groups, to ensure the living transmission of our Diamond Way and serve as everybody's worldwide power place.” • Lama Ole Nydahl • The Europe Center will be our own place: • As a place for international networking between our centers, countries and activities • To create a lasting power field • A representative place for society • To protect the lineage www.europe-center.org

Europe Center Basics How will we all use the Europe Center? • The site will offer: • International courses (like Kassel and larger) • Meditation, teachings and events • A home for friends from around the world to meet and bring inspiration and development • Possibilities for international meetings, travel teachers gatherings, other projects • A place for long and short retreats • Study programs, a library, archives • Dharma café etc. www.europe-center.org

The nearest town has an IC train station. Europe Center Basics Why is the Europe Center located in Germany? • Lama Ole decided on the location for several reasons: • A central European country • Good means of transportation • Well networked and where communication is very easy • „It's also meant as an honor: • Although over the years activity and material help have come • increasingly from all our countries, my German speaking students and friends have constantly carried the biggest load.   8. Europe Center Facts • The Land • The place is about 850 meters high in altitude• Approx. 5 x the size of Kassel • Almost 50 hectars (500.000 m2) • One third free land / two thirds forest and wild nature We have all possibilities for future development. www.europe-center.org

  27. Europe Center Fundraising Campaign Be part of the worldwide collection „We want to buy it the old fashioned way – no debt. In the end, we always remain in the black numbers” (Lama Ole Nydahl) Our power lies in our numbers, in the fact that we are so many. The worldwide Diamond Way Sangha will help to get the remaining amount. On average that would be 6000 friends giving 500 Euro each. www.europe-center.org

  28. Europe Center Fundraising Campaign How much do we need? We have to pay 4.400.000 Euro. Since 1999 we already collected 1.300.000 Euro. On our main communication media, www.europe-center.org, you can see the daily donation progress. Our deadline is 3 months from Tibetan New Year which, meaning May 18th, 2007. The goal of this woldwide effort is to get all people in our centers involved in the EC vision. Everybody is invited to contribute! www.europe-center.org

Europe Center Finance How to collect money in our centers, regions, countries? • Individual money contributions • Fix a goal of the amount all members are willing to give (e.g. 100 members x 500 euro = 50.000 Euro within three months) • Loan- and donation communities (the Hamburg Model) • Merchandizing (t-shirts etc.) • Auctions and tombolas • The creative freedom is up to you and your country.
