Review Grant Goals • Increase student access to and efficiency of PSET to meet industry demand for entry level employees. • Improve rates of certificate and degree completers. • Improve academic quality of PSET.

Part Time Fire Academy • Pilot II - Part Time Fire Academy • January 2012 – July 2012 • Schedule changed to meet needs of students (as surveyed) • Enrollment • Pilot began with 21 students (1/4/2012 )
Basic Skills Pre-Academy Pilot II Two linked five-week sessions: 10 WEEKS TOTAL • Public Safety Seminar (ADJ A33E) 2 units team taught with • English 60 (A1 & A4) 2 units both in a learning community with • Reading 86 2 units
Pilot II: Law Enforcement Pre-Academy • Integration of career content and academic skills implemented through team teaching and a learning community approach Integrated Curriculum: • Personal History Statement • Autobiography • Hiring Process: written exam, physical agility, oral interview • Mock Oral Interviews • Mock Scenario Training • Report Writing: Police Report Rubric • Code of Ethics • Penal Code
