PC#8: the reality • New software: • MS oven via GC • better HK • data compression • thoroughly tested: Simulation, GRM, FS • MS not working any more!!! • two non-nominal events, both immediately after switch-on of the MS • Most obvious explanation: Software • suspicion: damaged hardware • one interpretation: Damage in the HV of the MS 4th Philae post-launch workshop
PC#8: the reality • Contingency Slot • downgrade to previous software • step-wise testing • Romap data for error analysis (Ampere-meter) • COSAC behaved like prior to PC#8 (i.e. working) • No permanent hardware damage! 4th Philae post-launch workshop
