What is Accelerating Opportunity? • Grant-based initiative designed to transition Basic Skills students from College & Career Readiness towards earning stackable credentials in their desired career path
What is your role? • Incorporate contextualized instruction daily • Regularly incorporate meaningful and effective uses of technology into instruction • Integrate career awareness and goal-setting activities into the classroom • Apply content standards into instruction
Incorporation of Technology into Instruction Example Goal T.1.1.2: Recognize and correctly use common computer terms Understand how to use the internet as a job searching tool Organize and maintain information pertaining to work search Know how to handle stress of the job search Independent Practice Example ActivityT.1.1.2: have student make a glossary of computer terms using a computer. Print and turn into instructor. The instructor will colligate and return to the students a dictionary of common computer terms for further reference.
