Vision: Provide a catalyst for the Professional Women Leaders in the Collection Industry to: • Support professional & personal growth, enabling our success • Make a positive difference for our families, companies and communities • Charter: • Establish a network which will drive the collections industry to embrace initiatives that support the effort to • Recruit, retain, develop and nurture women of all levels, in particular Senior Leadership • Establish role models, sponsors & mentors (women & men)
Modes of communication: • Meetings at Industry Conferences • Activities committee to coordinate logistics • Volunteers to co-host &/or sponsor meetings • Meet at 3:00 the day of conference registrations (subject to change) • Guest Speakers for specific topics / areas of interest & expertise • Conference guests • Quarterly Conference calls • Quarterly Newsletters • Communications Committee coordinates newsletter • Website • 1Q08 anticipated launch date • Networking!!! • Reach out to the colleagues you have met!
What do we do? What have we discussed: • Professional growth • Professional Resources to help in your professional endeavors • Conference calls with interesting topics • Networking opportunities with industry peers • The objective is to provide a safe environment for all professional leaders (lenders, debt buyers & agencies); not a private audience for sales pitches • Discuss issues regarding business obstacles including: • Impact of gender differences in the workplace, Dress Code – what is it now? Working from Home (Pros and Cons) • Personal growth • Constant balance between work/family balance • Travel issues & rewards • Recommended Reading (articles/books/management/personal)
Our Structure • Steering Committee • The objective of this committee is to provide structure and consistency around all of the committees in the Women’s Network. • This includes oversight to ensure the vision and mission are in alignment with our activities. • Professional Resources (formally Mentor Program) Committee • During our first meeting to discuss a Women’s Network, developing a mentor program was discussed in depth. • Activities Committee • The objective of this committee is to provide structure and consistency around the various activities of our Women’s Network. • This includes assisting in the planning of our conference meetings, determining discussion topics, conference calls, social visits (i.e.: shopping excursions, golf, spa, etc.). • This group will work with volunteers on the process of organizing activities. They have experience and they will make sure it is simple for each round of continuing volunteers.
Our Structure • Communications Committee • This committee is responsible for ensuring our Women’s Network gets the proper exposure as well as reaches all Women in our Network who WANT to be reached! • This includes the quarterly newsletter, a dedicated web site (anticipated roll out 1Q08), email communication, and business cards to hand out w/ our logo. New Member Committee • This committee is responsible for expanding the network and welcoming new members. • This includes recruiting, communicating, emails, new member packets, distribution lists, regular meetings, introductions, and initiations.
