  2. Before we read the poem… SILENTLY and to YOURSELF, read the “Meet the Writer” section on page 263

  3. Making Connections Answer the following questions in complete sentences on your Tri 3 Google Doc. Today is Thurs, 3/20. • What are your first thoughts on Edgar Allan Poe? • How is his life/background LIKE Robert Frost? • How is his life/background DIFFERENT than Robert Frost?

  4. Now that you’ve “met” the writer… • Skim the poem, “Annabel Lee,” which on pages 261-262. Pick out ONE stanza (poem paragraph) to read carefully. • With a partner, take turns reading the stanza that you each chose • When you have each read your stanzas, discuss what they could be about. • Now that you have “met” the writer, discussed some things with your partner, think through a prediction that you have for this poem: • I think this poem will be _____________ because _________.

  6. Post Read • Recap: Write a 15 word summary of the events of the poem. • Make a list. We know that this poem has many of the figurative language devices that we have studied. Find at least oneexample of each in your Google Doc.
