STORY A camera undelines the two adolescent moving around an unknown and dark gray city. A perpetual motion, a camera that follows moving itself too, like tryig not to lose neithe a gesture just chalked out, these are the protagonists. But maybe he real protagonist of the stoy is the camera, that with absolute absence of judgement restricts itself to make the fects plain and real. The total absence of musi makes the few melodies more meaningful. Althoug it has a setting that coincides with the one of the documentary. This movie passes through a strand of signs which suggest what the protagonist don’t want to say. The end is a magic strong and meaningful moment.
The film could be divaded into three blocks: • A “new” family • A vile gesture: Bruno a childisc faher • Bruno: finally a man
THE CENTRAL IDEA “L’enfant” is a very hard, ummerciful film that knows how to photograph without hearts and flowers a youthful world, but that give some hopes or possibilities of redemption accurred just through private feelings and not for some acts of colletive solidariety.
