  5. By the end of today, we will be able to: • Analyze a myth for perspective and manipulate/change the perspective of a myth. • Explain the cultural implications of monster myths.

  6. Questions of the Day • What can we learn about the culture of ancient greece by studying the monster myths? • How does changing the perspective of a story, change the way we view the events and characters in that story?

  7. Monsters • The Greeks had many reasons to create monsters. • The article from last time described a few reasons. • Can you remember any?

  8. Through the Eyes of a Monster • Go get one of the mythology books Mrs. Marshall has put out, look through it to find a monster (Share books with your neighbors). • Read about your monster. • Write a short story that re-tells your myth through the eyes of the monster. Make us feel and see what the monster feels and sees.

  9. Through the Eyes of a Monster: Rubric • Retells some basic events of the myth (5 points) • Is through the eyes of the monster in first person (5 points) • Shows the thoughts, feelings, experiences, and emotions of the monster (15 points). • Get creative and have fun!
