OUTFIT MEETING The OUTFIT Meeting is a gathering of Scouts conducted at he end of each month to culminate the activities conducted by the CREWs. Good OUTFIT meetings are very important in the effective implementation of the OUTFIT Program. Properly planned and executed, OUTFIT Meetings are always look after with excitement and enthusiasm by the different CREWs that composed the OUTFIT
OBJECTIVES OF OUTFIT MEETINGS • 1. To bring the OUTFIT together. • 2. To build strong CREWs. • 3. To learn, practice, and pass test in Scoutcraft. • 4. To provide opportunities for leadership.
PARTS OF A OUTFIT MEETING • Pre-Opening-This is the period spent preparing for the meeting. • Opening-The ceremony must be short, simple but impressive. Make sure diferent opening ceremonies are presented every time. • Business Period – This where roll call and inspection is conducted by the OUTFIT Scribe and the SPL respectively. This is also the time when the OUTFIT dues are collected & the advancement progress of the CREWs are mnitored through the reports of the CREW Leaders.
4. Scoutcraft Instruction – It is in this period when instruction on the different Scoutcraft skills are given primarily through the use of lecture with demonstration by an invited instructor or the SCL himself. 5. Games – These are fun and physical inter-CREW games designed to provide variety and to develop OUTFIT unity and morale. 6. CREW Corners– This is the period alloted for the conduct of CREW Meetings within the OUTFIT Meeting. Its main purpose is to plan for their next meeting, and to follow up the advancement of CREW members.
7. Scoutcrft Contest – This is the CREWs much awaited period. This is where their knowledge of the scoutcraft skills taught to them during the last OUTFIT Meeting will be tested through an inter-CREW Scoutcraft contest. 8. OUTFIT in Council- This is the period when the OUTFIT relaxes after having undergone too much mental and physical exertion to the message that will be given them by their OUTFIT leader. This is also the moment when the OUTFIT eader delivers his minute or inspirational message and reminders. 9. Closing Ceremony 10. Post Meeting Period- As the Service CREW cleans up the meeting place, the OUTFIT Leaders Council is convened to evaluate the just concluded meeting and to plan the next OUTFIT Meeting
THE CREW MEETING The CREW is the basic unit in Boy Scouting. This is where everything happens. This is where the development of the boys into disciplined, responsible, self-reliant, and concerned citizens takes place.
The CREW Meeting is a weekly meeting of the CREW for the following objectives: • To strengthen the CREW. • To plan the CREW’s activities and projects. • To plan, encourage, and monitor the progress in advancement of members. • To review, practice, and learn scoutcraft.
To practice and develop leaership skills. • To learn the value of teamwork and interdependence. • To develop a sense of responsibility for the CREW.

How to Have Challenging CREW Meetings The CREW Leader must consider the following: • The Plans of the CREW must be interesting to all the members. • Every member must be given a definite responsibility to carry out.
Make sure every member will learn somethng new during the meeting. • Make the activities short and carry out each part of the meeting snappily. Do not prolong the activities to he point of being boring. Plan for more activities that could be carried out.
