Convention on the Rights of the Child Human Rights of the Child • The CRC recognizes the child as the bearer of his or her own human rights. These rights are not derived from or dependent upon rights of parents or any other adult. • The CRC states a clear prohibition of discrimination among children (Art. 2) • Art 3(1) formulates the overall guiding principle - „the best interest of the child“
