That is a lot of money….How many people were involved? • The total number of employment injuries in 1999/00 were 53 224. • Approximately 6000 of those were under 25 Males are more likely to be injured • 72% of all injured were males.
Injuries can mean anything….What were the serious injuries? • 181 people died at work • 15 241 of employment injuries involved a permanent disability. This is 28.6% of all injuries
