Company Eligibility Company: • Paying into CA Unemployment Insurance Fund • CEAN / Tax ID Number • Facing out-of-state or international competition • Has need for training • ETP-funded training will not displace already-existing training • Turnover rate below 20% Average annual turnover for full-time employees in prior calendar year
Trainee Eligibility Regular, full-time employment (35 hrs. / week) ETP minimum wage: $15.88 / hour for OC; $16.00 / hour for LA. May include medical, dental, vision benefits Complete the training; stay on the job for 90 days Training hours may range from 8-60 (small company)
Alternative Choices Own Agreement MEC Contractor SELACO WIB holds the agreement SELACO WIB already has experienced instructors and training partners SELACO WIB handles all documentation and record-keeping • You hold the agreement • You procure instructors • You document trainee attendance and payroll data, enter data, invoice ETP and store records
Alternative Choices Own Agreement MEC Contractor SELACO WIB interacts with all monitors, auditors, and state personnel SELACO WIB staff documents, tracks, and files all data; stored for four years after training ended No costs to you; SELACO WIB receives reimbursement, pays instructors, or you • You interact with state monitors and auditors • You provide staff to document, track, and file trainee data; stored for four years after end of training • You pay initial costs; reimbursement goes to you

What ETP Staff Want You to Consider Know the trainee wages and benefits Know the company turnover rate Average annual turnover for full-time employees in the prior calendar year. Get buy-in from top management. Have them designate someone to manage the ETP agreement. Have them give permission for supervisors to release employees for training.
