Setting Lifestyle Goals (2.2) • Ways you spend your time, energy, & resources in the future. • Ask yourself a few questions. • What do you want to accomplish in life? • Do you want to raise a family? • Where would you like to live – house, apartment---city or country? • How would you like to spend your free time? • Do you want a high income or just enough money to be comfortable?
Values • Beliefs & principles that you want to live by • Define who you are, shape your attitudes & choices, and help you identify your priorities (ex. Fame, family, health) • What is really important to you? Choose a career that matches your values. This can help ensure you like your work
Six general values • Responsibility • Fulfilling obligations in a dependable & trustworthy way • Relationships • Work w/people you like or live near your family • Compassion • Caring deeply about people & their well-being • Courage • Ability to conquer fear & despair • Achievement • Being successful in whatever you do • Recognition • Want other people to appreciate & respect your accomplishments
