Groups • (depending on data available for exercise) • Discuss changes that have taken place in ecosystem condition, extent etc. Use worksheets to summarize discussions • If not enough data – use your own views, experience, and opinions • Don’t panic if you don’t have all the data can list as DD (data deficient) or NE (not evaluated). But give it your best shot!!! • Come to some agreement on Risk assessment category (and why) for the criteria you are working with. • Present and discuss in plenary

How res can really inform • Improved biodiveristy (e.x. otters) • Role of opps – tourism • Our peat small by comparision to russia – so is their political will • Grass roots – make it relevant to voters!! – e.g. Birdwatch Ireland • Economic models, - tourism, other forms of employment, cranberries • Cultural connections – make an opportunity, cultural love for peatlands (ex. Of UK Fenlands) • Financial beneift
Who?? • Communicate in “language” – media, • Awareness at diff levels • We are stubborn lot – how to foster change – whats the incentive to change when bord no mona do if!! • Change at multiple levels • Need to focus not on just SSEs • Its not we know best!! – we all knowledge!!
