  2. The founding partners were Bizkaia Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua city halls, the Basque automotive cluster ACICAE, ZF Lemförder TVA, Pierburg, CIE Automotive, Amaya Telleria and Microdeco.

The AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center is a specialized global competence center whose objectives are to: • Stimulate sector knowledge. • Increase basic and applied research related to the sector. • Promote training among automotive professionals at all levels. • Encourage the creation of new businesses with high added value in the sector. • Attract innovative projects. • These organizations have relocated their R&D, training or industrial development departments to the Center. Altogether, more than 250 professionals will work in these facilities. • 1 car builder. • 5 foreign multinationals. • 11 Basque companies. • 2 research centers. • 1 engineering firm. • 1 training center. • 1 cluster (industry group).

  4. ACICAE is a non profitbusinessassociation. One of thefirstautomotivecluster in europe (1993) supportedbytheBasqueGoberment, usingPorter´smethodology. 300 companies . 10 .000 millonseuros. 75.000 people - 35.000 in theBasque Country .
