Our Day Morning Sessions – 8.45 am – 11.55am. Doors open at 11.45am for collection Afternoon Sessions – 12.25pm– 3.30pm Doors open at 3.20pm for collection Typically: • basic skills • calendar and register • circle time • choosing time • tidy up • phonics • assembly • choosing • story and songs • home time (if there are any changes please let the office know in advance)
The Curriculum • The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) • Learning journals • Topic and picture based curriculum which makes it very cross curricular and child centred.
High Expectations Every year the results are getting better and progress this year and the percentage of children at age related expectations is higher than ever! The Early Years consistently has been judged as outstanding by LA and the school is currently working on its journey from ‘Good’ to an ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted Every second counts – attendance the children need to be in school at 8:45 so they can start their basic skills before the lessons start. Attendance is key! Introduce reading / story telling/ books to your daily routine.
Getting ready for school • Various previous school/setting experiences (e.g. children’s centre) • We help your child to settle through this induction visit, a home visit and your support in the initial nursery sessions. What you can do: • Talk to your child about starting Nursery • Independence skills e.g. managing personal hygiene, dressing themselves, using cutlery, looking after their belongings
