Classroom Poster - Value Ifblackis added to a hue, a darker value is achieved, and is called a shade. 50% 100 100 50% If white is added to a hue, a lighter value is achieved, and is called a tint.
Loading a paintbrush with Paint No more than half of the bristle length
Start applying the paint to the paper using the brush that is loaded with your choice of colour
Move each tint of the colour from the palette onto the paper.
When you reach the half colour half white tint switch to the brush that is loaded with white paint.

Blend the swatches of tints on the paper into an organic shape.
Carefully rinse the area with water, then dab soap onto the stained area. Leave the soap on the stain until washed with your laundry! If you get paint on your clothing!
Experiment making marks with (toy cars, sponges, tooth brushes, combs, string etc.)
Is the Focal Point? Hold up your painting in both a landscape and portrait orientation and ask a neighboring student what area of the painting do they see first?
