Definition: Materialism • preoccupation with or emphasis on material objects, comforts, and considerations, with a disinterest in or rejection of spiritual, intellectual, or cultural values. • There’s nothing wrong with wanting money and possessions, that’s normal, but… When the desire to own blinds you to the welfare of the world around you, Come back, don’t forget to buy your stuff then there is a problem!

  3. Danger #1 - Selfishness It’s mine all mine and I don’t care who I have to walk on to get it! • When the welfare of the “self” is more important than the welfare of the whole, then the “self” has forgotten that he or she is part of the whole, too!

  4. Danger #2: Exploitation Rejoice – ‘cuz there’s so much cheap child labor in the world! • American jobs are “outsourced” to countries where poor people, even children, are paid little better than starvation wages to better corporate profits, better known as the “bottom line.” The Bottom Line

  5. Danger #3- Power corrupts… • When you use your official position to better yourself and your cronies at the expense of the people you are supposed to be taking care of, there is a major problem! Democracy, my sweet ass, we want the damn oil!

  6. Danger #4 – Environmental Disregard • When the pursuit of material gain in the interests of the “economy,” cause irreparable harm to the ecosystem in which the economy exists, then great harm is done, not only to the world, but, ultimately, to the economy itself. Legacy of the Exxon Valdez

  7. Danger #5 – Deceit & Lies Let us out! We want to tell the truth! • When, in the interests of “National Security” or some other equally fatuous pretext is used to protect or aggrandize the economy, and the people are systematically lied to, then the moral fiber of the state is greatly weakened.

  8. Danger #6 – Spiritual Degradation • When the worship of money and ill-gotten gain replace the quest of the soul for the Holy Spirit, then does the Soul of Man & Woman suffer accordingly… Let us worship at the altar of theAlmighty Buck!

  9. The Greatest Danger • The physical plane is not ultimate reality, it is but a “daydream in the mind of the Goddess” which causes the illusion of the pageant of existence. • To give it credence as reality, is to deny the Reality which truly caused it to occur. • The soul suffers accordingly… Forget Her, where’s the money?
