Hace + time + que + verb expressions These expressions are used to express “how long something has been happening.” ej: Hace diez meses que soy miembro del equipo de natación.(I’ve been a member of the swim team for ten months.) ej: Hacetres años que Celia canta en el coro. (Celia has been singing in the choir for three years.) ej: Haceunos años que ensayamos con la orquesta. (We’ve been rehearsing with the orchestra for a few years.)

  2. Hace + time + que + verb expressions You have to use the verb that somebody “has been doing” in the present tense. ej: Hace dos semestres que juego a los bolos. ej: Hace cinco semanas que ella toma lecciones de violín.
