Welcome to… Hosted by: Jamel Smith WHO’S YA BABY DADDY?!?!?!?!
Jennifer who is, let’s just say a loose woman, is said to have slept with numerous men in very little time increments; four men a month to be exact. Unfortunately, this time around she was impregnated and had her baby, without any concrete knowledge of who the baby’s father was; just firm assumptions. The mother of the baby swears that her recent lover is the father of her child, however is he is uncertain and rejects. Today, we have geneticist, Dr. Jordon McHughes, to fulfill this request. On today’s episode…
In order to find out of the father of this baby, there will have to be a paternity test performed. Seeing as this operation takes three days to perform, we quietly performed the paternity test and today we have the results that will finally give this baby an identity. The story
In the biology world, the way to find out this information is called the gel electrophoresis test. The steps taken were: 1. First and foremost, the mother had to make an educated guess of who the father was. The most effective way to know who to test for paternity is to think back to the beginning of your last period, add two weeks to determine when you ovulated and who you had intercourse with within that time frame. 2. To perform the legal paternity testing, you will need DNA material from both the baby and from the alleged father. This is most often gathered using a buccal swab of the mouth or through a blood sample. 3. This swab is conducted by placing the swab in the mouth of the alleged father and baby, and perform a quick swipe of the inside of the cheek. 4. Once the samples have been taken, they are sent into a lab, in the included envelope. The lab then processes the DNA material that was collected from the man in question as well as from the baby for possible matches. This is where gel electrophoresis test takes place. It takes three days to complete the test. The steps
Gel electrophoresis is a process used to measure the number or size of DNA, RNA, genes and proteins. The gel is the matrix in which the samples travel through and will be separated based on their size. Small sizes will travel further while larger, denser molecules will only travel a short distance. This technique is frequently used as a first step in many genetic experiments to ensure that the desired product is present, such as, paternity testing. The gel electrophoresis test
Here with us we have: mother, Jennifer Lawson and the prospective fathers of her baby, Tom, Luke, James, and Peter, and Dr. McHugheswith the results. Waiting with anticipation, the results are about to be announced. The result for the 1st prospect, Tom is... The results…
The result for 2nd prospect, Luke is… YOU ARE NOT THE FATHER!!!!!
As the number of prospects narrowed down, Jennifer began to get more nervous. She was hoping that one of the two guys would be deemed the father of her fatherless child. James and Peter, at this point, were sweating bullets. The results were in. James…You are not the father. He sighed a sigh of relief as Jennifer cried. This had meant that father 4, Peter was the father in the end. The results from the gel electrophoresis showed this to be true.
Jennifer Lawson is not looking forward to having a relationship with Peter but will maintain healthy communication with him for the sake of the baby. • Peter Bellinger is charged to pay $300 a month for child support until the baby reaches age 21. • He will continue to be in the baby’s life. Joint custody. The resolution
Well, this concludes the show for today. Until then, if you’re wondering who will have to pay child support, let us know and answer the question… WHO’S YOUR BABY DADDY?! • Goodnight!
