DO: Empty hot hearth ashes in to a metal bucket and leave to cool Provide plenty of ashtrays at parties Extinguish candles at bedtimes Switch off fairy lights when leaving the house or going to bed Fit a smoke alarm, and test it regularly
DON’T: Put decorations on/near an open fire Burn wrapping paper in the fire Put candles near curtains, decorations etc Put candles on the Christmas tree
