Analysis of unicellular algae growth rates at different temperatures under continuous light conditions in laboratory cultures. Data from various regions and experiments indicate dependency of growth on temperature and nutrient availability.

Variation in the specific growth rate (µ) of photoautotrophic unicellular algae with temperature under continuous light (from Eppley, 1972). Data are all for laboratory cultures. Growth rate is expressed in doublings/day.
