Purpose • The purpose of Section e. is to encourage better health, wellness and employment outcomes for individuals by providing services and supports that encourage work, and ultimately greater independence • DHS envisions building on existing programs including PINS, SNBC, DB101 and DMIE project
Who People across the disability spectrum including: • People with an identified potentially disabling condition • People with complex needs
What Services that may be included are: • Benefits analysis and benefits counseling • Career planning, job training, job placement • Navigation services
Evidence – DMIE Project DMIE Project Results: • 4% of participants in intervention applied for SSDI vs. 14% in the control group • Participants in intervention had increased income of 14% vs. 8% in control group • Participants had improved mental health status and improvements in ADLs and IADLs
Stakeholder Feedback Some things we’ve heard: Pay special attention to youth Look at people aging off of MA-EPD Look at soft skills training
