Friendly reminders • You are responsible for the quality of the conversation. • This conversation is conducted in the spirit of EXPLORATION, sharing interpretations, evidence, inferences, questions to arrive at a deeper, clearer, more nuanced, more accurate understanding of the text and topics.

  3. Inner Circle • Organic conversation • Points based not on number of times you speak but based onquality of comments and questions

  4. Various ways to respond • Paraphrase/clarify • Ask questions • Share an idea triggered by the previous comment shared • Add evidence • Elaborate on a good point • Challenge respectfully and offer a different perspective

  5. Outer Circle • Act as if there is one-sided mirror between you and the inner circle. You can see and hear everything going on the other side of it. They can not. • So you quietly observe and takes notes on the human behavior and dialectic (the course/process of the conversation) of the inner circle.

  6. Procedure/Process • 10-15 minute seminar; Outer Circle observes who/how well people are listening, responding, the flow of conversation, human behavior • Inner circle take a minute to jot down their most important takeaway; everyone shares out loud • Outer circle may add comments to the conversation. • Everyone in the outer circles shares their observations.
