Enhanced Policing PlanFindings • Territorialism and gang related issues were of concern • Crime has been reduced • Communities report feeling less fearful • Improved recreational resources • Improved community/police relations • Improved partnership working
Communities • Welcomed more visible policing • Bikes • Engagement • Confidence • Shops • Supported by policing • Increased business especially in the evenings • Less trouble in and around the shops • Residents • Freedom to move around the area • Confidence that their concerns are being addressed • Taking ownership of their communities
Facilities • Urban Regeneration • Housing and Business development • Leisure and Sport • Cleaning up of community facilities – play parks etc • New facilities such as the outdoor gym • Partnership Youth Events • Music and activity events – free at point of access • Phoenix • Young people want more – not just for the holidays
Community/Police Relations • Knowing your community • Policy of engagement – changed understanding of community they were policing • Understanding and building trust with the police • Realising policing needs support • Improved intelligence • More effective outcomes • Developed more trust

Conclusion • EPP contributed to development of area generally • Improved community relations with service providers • Increased confidence in the area • Provides a ‘blueprint’ for the continuing development of policing/community planning policy.
