  9. Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) • NCP hosted the first WLCG Tier-2 site in Pakistan in collaboration with CMS experiment at CERN. • NCP-LCG2 site has been working since 2005. • Valuable resource statistics are listed in the table below:

  10. NCP Grid Utilization

  11. HPC Cluster at NCP • Local HPC cluster Deployed • Based on Rocks Linux Cluster Distribution • 100+ CPU cores are reserved for indigenous research activities. • This cluster is being used by researchers working in different disciplines across Pakistan. • The user base of this facility comprises students, researchers and faculty members of different universities and research institutes of Pakistan.

  12. HPC Research Areas • Some of the scientific areas where researchers are benefitting from this facility are as follows:

  13. HPC Cluster Utilization

  14. HPC Cluster Utilization (2) Cluster Usage Trend---- Last 3 years Cluster Usage ---- Last 2 years

  15. Private Cloud at NCP • Open Stack based Private cloud has been deployed in NCP for efficient utilization of idle resources. • NCP compute servers hardware is partially shifted on Openstack Based Private Cloud. • Ceph based block storage model is also adopted for flexibility. • As we have just seen, NCP is hosting two different computing environments: • WLCG-TIER-2 site for EHEP community • Local computing cluster for other scientific community • Both these projects are hosted on our private cloud.

  16. Private Cloud at NCP

  17. PK-GRID-CA at NCP • PK-GRID-CA at NCP, is the first non-commercial Certification Authority (CA) of Pakistan accredited by European Grid Policy Management Authority (EuGridPMA) since 2004. • EuGridPMA’s peer policy management bodies are APGridPMA (governing Asia Region) and TAGPMA (governing Americas Region) working under Interoperable Global Trust Federation (IGTF) framework. • Total Certs Issued : 510 • User Certs : 284 • Host Certs : 226 • Certificates Expired : 353 • Certificates Revoked : 86 • Active Certificates : 71
