RRs 2012 W26 (~7 fb-1) 2011 W49 (~5.5 fb-1) • RRs P1/5 slightly less loaded than last year (despite higher luminosity) due to the “TCL effect” (closed at 10s) • Measured & confirmed by simulations (R. P8 + UX45 2012 W26 (~0.7 fb-1) 2011 W49 (~1.17 fb-1) • P8 (UX/US85) – levels driven by luminosity (less this year with respect to last year – unlike higher lumi exp.) • UX45 – higher radiation levels – beam gas: 2012 higher bunch intensity and more total intensity UX85 P. BatMons in PS/SPS • TT83: • 2 BatMons installed in close to BE/BI electronics • ~3-8*109 HEH/cm2 until TS#2 (~10 Gy) • Feedback from BE/BI together with H4IRRAD tests • PS ring: • 1 BatMon in the BE/RF alcove in SS77 + 1 BatMon ion the EN/CV alcove • ~1.5-2*1011 HEH/cm2 until TS#2 (~200 Gy) • Useful to cross-check DGS/RP simulations in the PS • AD-target • 1 BatMon close to access point to evaluate possible effects on the GS/ASE new access point (MAD/PAD) • ~5*106 – 107 nth/cm2 until TS#2 (2.5 mSv/h during operation) M. H4IRRAD news – 1st slot operation • 1st slot successfully run ~20 days 14th May – 3rd June • TE/EPC, TE/ABT (IGBTs), BE/BI GEMs, PH/UCM, etc. • High beam availability coupled with higher beam intensity (3x) and energy (280 400 GeV/c) • Up to 150 Gy (or 3*1011 HEH/cm2/slot) in the internal zone • Up to 3*1010 HEH/cm2/slot in the external zone • Increase radiation levels by factor of 5-6x for the same period! • Irradiation logs provided at cern.ch/h4irrad R. H4IRRAD – 2nd slot preparation • 2nd slot foreseen to start 3rd August 2012 for 14 days • EN/ICE PLCs moved to 3rd slot (material not available) • Kick-off meeting this afternoon at 15h in 864-1-C02 M. Calviani - RadWG - MCWG & H4IRRAD news
