  2. Intheworldofsafetyandhealth, a “competentperson”is designated to ensure the well- beingofemployeesandworkers. OSHAdefinesa competent personas,“onewhoiscapableof identifying existing and predictablehazardsinthe surroundingsorworkingconditions whichareunsanitary,hazardous, ordangeroustoemployees,and whohastheauthorizationtotake promptcorrectivemeasuresto eliminatethem”(29CFR 1926.450).
