  16. CU Academic Year • 3 Semesters – Autumn • Winter/Spring • Summer • Each semester has 16 weeks • 11 teaching + 3 Study + 2 Assessment weeks

  17. MSc = 9 modules+Dissertation(180 credits) PG Dip = 8 modules (120 credits) PG Cert = 4 modules (60 credits) Semester 1: 4 modules Semester 2: 4 modules Semester 3: Project Dissertation + GPD module Mode of Study

Module Delivery • Most modules comprise 1 hour lecture plus a 2 hour tutorial • Different teaching styles e.g. • Traditional lectures, Group work, Case studies • Activity led learning e.g. games, research, simulations • Assessment typically by: • Assignments, Presentations, Portfolios, Posters • On line tests, Mini in-class tests

  19. 50 credits towards MSc (180 credits) Approx 600 hours of work The project topic isYOUR strategic choice Use the project to underpin your future career direction (in addition to your MSc) Learn how to do high level research in your chosen area Use the dissertation to ‘show case’ your new research and problem solving skills Invest your time wisely!
