  1. Digitisation and electronic health records: enabling early warning & predictive capability for patients. Electronic health records are a digital format of a patients individual report when they are in processing within the healthcare life cycle (from inpatient to outpatient). Thus electronic health records enable several capabilities and enhance the health ecosystem due to being a technology that is based on information and records. Early warning capability: Early warning capability for individuals/patients within hospitals and clinics. Electronic health records can store information about their health, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, or various other monitored criteria within blood tests like Hb1ac, RBC count, enzyme levels are then input to the respective EHR in an ideal smart health eco-system via interface such as a smart clinic management system. This if done at least once, but ideally frequently, would enable early warning capability. For example for individuals that are susceptible for diabetes, the onset usually can be detected as a condition as pre-diabetes, and this is reversible if the capability exists and was exploited for detection early on, a feature that can exist within a smart hospital management system.

  2. With electronic health records, there is the permanence within the hospital and care providers system, that can, if complemented with automated analysers, enables such report generation. Electronic health records are utilised to generate reports that can thus display the predicted risk and probability of acquiring health conditions, even to the point where the electronic health records can generate recommendations to avert the diagnosis. Hospital management software that utilises constructs of Electronic health records are consisting of these complex items and records, that are utilised as entry points to the patient within the healthcare life cycle and for healthcare provision to be effective. Predictive capability: this refers to utliising data stored within electronic health records. How does this differ from standard diagnosis or paper based and human based interprteation? With predictive capability a naturally larger section of data can be captured and analysed. Oftenmore than not many healthcare practitioners cannot predict all the outcomes required for the patient. Patients may have co-morbidities that cannot be captured simply by a glance or look of a human operator. Technology has been hailed as a key driver in the generation of insights and patterns due to its ability to process large sections and attempt to, under guided mannerisms, find conclusions, and yield knowledge within the data. Healthcare operations management Solutions are highly digitised and rely on digital technologies that consist of sole devices but also up to hierarchical networking technology, such as the cloud, Internet Of Things and Smart technology. Diagnosis Early Predictive capability: Under certain constraints and testing, individuals who are regularly monitored and can thus test themselves and changes within their prescriptions, lifestyle or diet, can thus also report these changes back to their electronic health records. Predicting risk Enabling diagnosis Suggesting control factors Monitored variable, control variables. The predictive capabilities are not just geared towards a diagnosis of a condition, but are also able to provide actions or decisions the patients and recipients within the healthcare life cycle can undertake. It also enables effective monitoring. During a patients intake, they are often required to report back on changes to any of the treatment regiment or healthcare delivery that has been implemented on them. With automation and electronic health records, this enables the healthcare service

  3. provider to continuously implement feedback on recommendations for what actions the patients can take, so it also acts as a mechanism to understand the responsiveness of treatment to variations on the recommended regiment as well as enabling the active recording of these, for future and legacy preservation.
