5. Section 1 What’s the Story (Script for Reference) • My favorite Thanksgiving was one I spent with my friends not family. I was single and living in California, my family live on the East Coast in Virginia, and since I only had two days off work, I decided to stay put and not travel for the holiday. Two friends came over to my house and together we cooked an entire turkey, prepared the mashed potatoes and green beans, and even baked a pie. We had a quiet, relaxing day together. In the evening we watched the movies.

It was so peaceful to be in the presence of a few close friends. Usually the holidays are hectic for me because I have to travel so far to see my family. And once I get home, I 'm very busy.
