Mechatronic Technician • What will students learn during this program? • A combination of electrical, mechanical and electronic skills to solve systematic problems • Learn basic solutions using a holistic approach • How to support engineers, modify machines, make minor changes, repairs, test, and provide maintenance for related equipment
Technical Product Design • What will students learn in this program? • Prepares individuals for duties that create or modify product design • How to work with engineers, model makers, sales and marketing staff and other skilled people • Become competent in use and creation of internal/client presentations, 2D drawings, technical documentation, 3-D models, and computer simulations
Information Technology • What will students learn in this program? • Technical, business, and customer areas of IT • Installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and updating technologies • Communicate to both internal and external customers • Specialize in one of three tracks: • Software Infrastructure IT Security Track
Student Benefits of MAT2 • College tuition paid by employer • On-the-job training with pay YR 1 $9.00 YR 2 $10.50 YR 3 $12.00 • Receive a $200 per week stipend during school sessions • Associate’s Degree • Student is hired by employer at start of program. Employment is continued after graduation.

How to Become a MAT2Student STEP 1: Register as a Community College student Needed to take COMPASS or Accuplacer test only (Henry Ford CC, Oakland CC, Mott CC, Macomb CC) STEP 2: Take COMPASSplacement test, check local community college for days and times STEP 3: Register onlinewww.mitalent.org/mat2 application resume COMPASS scores letters of recommendations (optional) STEP 4: Student receives email qualified OR remediation needed not qualified

F.A.Q. Q: Is there an application fee? A: No, applying is free for the student Q: Do I have to apply to the community college to take COMPASS? A: Yes, you must apply to the CC first, which has a 48 hour processing time Q: Can I start the application before I take the COMPASS test? A: It is advised that you take the COMPASS test first, then apply at www.mitalent.com/ mat2 Q: I am a HS junior, can I apply to MAT2? A: No, you must be a senior or graduated.
F.A.Q. Q: Will I attend the college at which I take my Compass/Accuplacer test? A: No, academic provider assignment is based on the employer Q: Is previous Career Technical Education experience required? A: No, but it can be a benefit when speaking to companies Q: How many slots are available for 2014? A: 90-100 students will participate for 2014
