  3. Recording unprepared talks: aims Aims Make students more aware of their English speaking skills level Provide them with knowledge and instruments to autonomously improve their English speaking skills

Recording unprepared talks: structure Structure Students assess their oral competence skills (ELP) Students record monologues Odeo, Audacity Sanako digital recorder in the language lab mobile phone Students upload monologues (first pilots: ELP, last pilot: Blackboard) Teacher provides written feedback

Pilots with students and staff Technical issues Problems in using Odeo and Audacity Problems in uploading audio files in the ELP, the programme was less user friendly than expected Problems in uploading audio files through Assignments in Blackboard Different approach to technology; generation gap
