Decentral Green H2 The project • Funded by Austrian national grant (FFG) • Duration: 24 months • Started in January 2012 • Partners: • BEGAS Energie AG / BKB Biomasse Betriebs GmbH & Co KG • Binder Industrieanlagenbau GmbH
Decentral Green H2 Process chain • thermo-chemical gasification of biomass using the “Sorption Enhanced Reforming” • additional “cold” scrubber cleaning for efficient tar removal • H2 enrichment up to 90% by one stage membrane technology • CO removal by adsorption • PEM fuel cell for power production
Decentral Green H2 H2 enrichment using membranes • currently one stage membrane process to double the H2 concentration • checking different membrane materials and process conditions • executing long term experiments to demonstrate the reliability of the process at real conditions • upgrade the test facility, possibility of using two membrane stages and modify the temperature conditions • creation of design base for a pilot plant
