Set up and Operation Start Up following installation Assuming all installation requirements have been met and the Vcafé is connected to power, the water tank will begin to fill. The Service Interface will display “Filling” during this process. Power to the heaters will be turned on when the water reaches the Safe level probe in the tank. Filling will continue until the water level reaches the Refill probe. During the heating cycle, the Service Interface will display “Warming up”, the water temperature and the current software revision. The Brew light, located on the Dispense Control panel will be on. If after five minutes, the normal tank level has not been reached, the Service Interface will display “Fill Too Long” (water on?) and the dispenser controls will be blocked, that is all machine functions are discontinued until a reset is initiated. Blocked conditions and Reset will be covered later in this class. Full coverage of this can also be found in the manual on pages 28 & 29. Set up and Operation Portion Dispense and Timing Product Dispense Switches Location of hidden program switches Stop Switch Setting Portion Timers • Place a suitable container below the nozzle of the selection that is to be programmed. This can be a measuring cup or the cup that will be used to serve the portion. • Simultaneously press the two hidden program switches located just above the large Coffee and Decaff dispense switches. A short duration “beep” will be heard, indicating the dispenser is now in the timer programming mode. • Press the dispense button corresponding to the selection to be timed, holding the button until the desired portion size or volume measurement is reached. Repeat for each dispense button. • When the desired button is first pressed, a tone lasting two seconds will be heard. If the dispense button is released before the end of this tone, the selection will not be timed and will revert to Push Hold mode for that selection only. When the dispenser is configured for a Dispense Type of Mom time out or Hold time out, this feature allows for setting one button to a timed portion and the second to a manual dispense. • If no button is pressed within 5 seconds after entering the programming mode, the machine will default to the previously programmed time/mode.
