It will be important for students to understand the focus rather than memorizing the list words. We will analyze and apply the focus through daily instruction. High Frequency Words These words do not follow commonly taught phonics rules and cannot be sounded out. joy joy noise noise 3. to to 4. two two 5. too too Academic Words: schema place value scientific citizen Please practice your words by choosing from the menu of activities on the back of this list. Included with the word assessment, students will be given two dictation sentences where the students will be held accountable for correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation usage.
