Overall Need for Design • Expand on the currently available remote training collars by adding proximity detection, effectively electrically tethering a dog to its owner. • Milestones • Order parts (1/25/2012) - *completed • Ultrasonic circuit design (2/13/2012) – * next big task • Unit to unit communication (2/16/2012) – * ahead of schedule • Breadboard implementation (3/1/2012) • PCB implementation (3/15/2012)
Tasks Completed • Microcontroller test circuit (2/4/2012) • AVR working, established programming procedure, tested I/O • Initial parts list ordered (1/28/2012) • Initial parts list finalized (1/20/2012) • RF transceivers acquired (12/15/2011)
Ongoing Tasks • Shock unit design • We’re using existing shocking circuit designs for reference • Ultrasonic system design • Big task for this week • Mobile power system design • Considering LED battery level indicator, considering rechargeable battery system • Microcontroller/RF transceiver code • Adapting AVR microcontroller code to work for our system • Website design • We’ve begun website design
Upcoming Tasks • Ultrasonic system implementation • Shock unit implementation • Mobile power system implementation
