  2. The Gospel Story in Worship • Adoration – God’s Character • Recognition of the greatness and goodness of God • Begins by honoring God for His true nature • Creates a mindset • Logical sense • Gospel sense

  3. The Gospel Story in Worship • Confession – our character • Response to realizing the glory of God • Bow down or humble • Reflexive response to a divine encounter • Kyrie – cry for mercy

  4. The Gospel Story in Worship • Assurance – affirmation of grace • Following a cry for mercy is the need for grace • Recognition of sins removed and pardoned • Recognition of God’s presence with us • An understanding of grace

  5. The Gospel Story in Worship • Thanksgiving – expression of devotion • A heart that knows grace longs to thank God • Mostly the reflection of believers requesting to give themselves in proper devotion to God

The Gospel Story in Worship • Petition and Intercession – desire for aide in living for God • After thanking God for His grace we desire more grace in our lives and the lives of others • Includes corporate petition for progress of devotion to God in our hearts and lives • Intercession becomes the expression of an inward heart to outward care for others
