Introduction & Overview • Who am I? Who are you? • Four meetings: 10/7, 10/14, 10/21 & 10/28 • 3:30 ~ 5:30 PM • Objective: the workshop attendee will become familiar with new (and some old) books (picture, non-fiction and fiction) and how they connect to NJCCCS.
Schedule • Meeting I - Introduction/ overview, Professional Resources (print and online), Annual Awards (what they are & are they “all that?” • Meeting II - You’re Never Too Old for Picture Books • Meeting III - Rethinking assigned reading - Literature circles & Multicultural literature • Meeting IV - Graphic Novels, non-fiction and the reluctant reader
