Integrating Technology into the Curriculum Technology has come along way, every day something new is introduced. As a teacher in today's technological age we must learn to Integrate these new technologies into our curriculum.
Technology is a tool to enhance or support instructional strategies. • Educators should have proper technology training and planning before integrated into the classroom. • Technology promotes learning through the Web. It is often referred to as an educational equalizer- allows students from all backgrounds the same access. Students are able to develop additional technology skills
Planning Lessons • Teachers should consider the skills and knowledge required for students to complete lessons. • Models Skill assessment survey KWL charts KWHL charts Technology committees and teacher's manuals, and in-services can give you all of the information you need to allow you to integrate technology in the classroom.
Upgrading • Teachers may have to go through a technology committee or obtain educational grants to upgrade hardware or computers for your classroom. • To purchase additional software, you made need to check with a media specialist, technology facilitator. Or the state board of education. • There are several technologies besides computers that can be used in a classroom including: DVD players, VCRs, digital cameras, scanners, projectors, and smart boards.
