British Judo Association North West Area - Events News Web: http://www.nwa.judouk.org/ Email: mark@judouk.org February 2000 STOP PRESS * Important Notice * STOP PRESS Welcome to 2000 • The following notice was approved on 26 September 1999 and relates to fast tracking of junior competitors in the new grading system. • All assessors must meet the following requirements in full. • +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ • Fast Tracking • Most candidates will continue to progress at 1 Mon per assessment. • A small number of more talented candidates may progress at 2 Mons per • assessment. • An even smaller number of exceptional candidates will be permitted to progress at • 2 Mons per assessment. • No candidate should be able to achieve 6th Mon in less than 2 assessments. The • highest grade awarded in the first assessment will be 3rd Mon; the highest grade awarded in the second assessment will be 6th Mon. • An exceptional candidate must have at least one registration at 1, 2 or 3 Mon and at • least 1 registration at 4, 5 or 6 Mon. • E.g.: A player assessed from Novice to 4th Mon or above will have their registration revoked. • Candidates who progress more than 1 Mon per assessment will be charged a £1 • supplement for each grade passed over. • Financial Arrangements • In order to monitor the finances and the allocation of grades, it is recommended that the following arrangements should operate. Although areas may wish to make their own arrangements for the collection of monies, the Area Director of Examiners should be sent a copy of the Assessments sheets and the monies owed to the Area in order that there is quality control built into the scheme. • The assessor will retain: • The fee per candidate per assessment as agreed within the club to cover expenses. • A copy of the Assessment Record Sheet. • The assessor should send the following to the Area Director of Examiners: • A copy of the Assessment Record Sheet • A cheque made payable to the Area for the amount per candidate as agreed by the • Area • The following should be sent to Head Office by the assessor: • A copy of the Assessment Record Sheet • A cheque made payable to the BJA @ £3 per candidate plus any £1 supplements • for each grade passed over. • The above will require the use of 3 assessment sheets, as was originally intended. Until the present store of duplicated sheets have been used up; it is recommended that two pairs of duplicated forms are used together or that one of the forms is photocopied to make a third copy. • For more information, contact Frank Jones, Director Of Examiners , on 01942 700073. Burnley Open 2000 Enclosed with this months issue of Events News is an entry form for the Burnley Junior Open Age Banded Championships. The event will be hosted at Turf Moor Leisure Centre (Burnley Football Club Ground) and will cater for a maximum of 350 entries. Entries for this event are now being taken via the Internet.
