The different kinds of bones • Skull:a bony structure in the head of many animals and humans that suports the stuructures of the face and forms a cavity for the brain. • Mandible: the mandible forms the lower jaw and the lower teeth in place. • Cranium: a skull without a mandible is only a cranium.
Humerus: connects the scapula and lower arm. Radius: the radius is the bone of the forearm Vertebral column:the vertebral column or backbone is a column consisting of 24 bones. It protects the spinal cord. Ulna: the ulna is one of the 2 long bones in the forearm.
Metatarsals: are a group of five long bones in the foot located between the tarsal bone. Carpals: are a sole cluster of bones in the wrist. Metacarpals: are the intermediate part of the hand that is located between phalanges. Phalanges: are the finger bones. Also they are the foot bones. Tarsals: is a cluster of articulating bones in each foot situated between the lower end of the tibia and fibula of the lower leg.
Skull: is a bony structure in the head. Clavicle: is a small bone that serves as a strut between the scapula and the sternum. Scapula:is the bone that connects the humerus (upper arm bone) with the clavicle (collar bone). Sternum: is a long flat bony plate shaped like a capital "T" located near the heart in the center of the thorax. Ribs: are the long curved bones which form the ribcage.
Patella: is the knee cap. Backbone or spinal column: is a column usually consisting of 24 articulating vertebrae. Femur: is a thigh bone. Tibia: is the larger and stronger of the two bones in the leg below the knee Pelvic Bone: is the part of the torso below-behind to the abdomen Fibula: The fibula or calf bone it is the smaller of the two bones.
