  2. Background Information on the Miami Heat The Miami Heat NBA basketball team are located in Miami, Floridaand their home games are played at American Airlines Arena. The team colors are: red, yellow, and white. Their mascot is Burnie, a rough depiction of some fire, with a basketball as its nose. The heat were formed in 1988, so they have been around for about 23 years. Heat’s record in 2010 is 58 wins and 24 losses.
