Community Service: form of volunteerism that is not tied to academic learning. Community Service focuses on completing pre-defined tasks. • Service Learning: Engages students in an examination of a local problem while working toward its solution as an academic experience. The service learning must only be conducted at non-profit organizations, which guarantees that students provide useful assistance that has real benefits in our communities. What is the difference between service learning and community service?
